Built for the wild

This is a story about two brothers who founded YETY Coolers company with just one simple mission in mind: build the cooler they would use every day! That’s it, that’s all! And guess what… They did it!

Back then in 2006, Roy and Ryan Seiders where two enthusiasts of hunting and fishing. They were also raised with an appreciation for wild game, unfamiliar territory and high quality gear.

But coolers – inseparable companion outdoor expeditions – were so bad designed, so week in ice retention, so cheap at all, that they could not take it any longer.

That frustration led them to a solution. The YETI Coolers Company. The Seiders’ goal in establishing the company was to build a “grizzly-proof” cooler “for the serious outdoor enthusiast rather than for the mass discount retailers”.

YETI Coolers targets niche markets of high-end hunting and fishing enthusiasts. In 2013, sales reached $100 million, which is 50 percent up from 2012.

That’s what I call success!
